A fortnight hath passed...

Two weeks have passed since I last posted. Can you believe it? I have a short attention span and don't like to do things!! Respect it. Here's a conciliatory bullet list of the last couple of weeks:

  • Huskies beat NC State last night and are now #12 in the AP Poll
  • I bought and set up a Christmas tree for the first time
  • I've finished 65% of my Christmas shopping with a moratorium until I get paid again (on the 24th!)
  • Supasonics are still awesome
  • LTB smokes hella blunts
  • I tried shrooms (and it was a disaster - thought I was going to be crazy and then nothing happened; will try again soon)
  • Rejoined Prorobics, this time serious (hahahahahaha)
  • Hung out at Nick's a lot
  • Got knocked out of the playoffs in the fantasy league I care about
  • Snuck into the playoffs in the league I don't care about - care now
  • Unless Adam Vinatieri scores 23 points tonight (highly unlikely) I will be in the finals of that league
  • College Dropout and Pavement's Brighten the Corners are the records for me right now
  • Snoop and Pharrell Drop It Like It's Hot is the single for me right now - I think it's the tightest ever
  • I don't get MTV Jamz on the dish. BOOOOO (Saw Pharcyde's Passin' Me By on that channel two nights ago, now covet the station)

Here are some things that suck

  • University of Washington still does not have a head football coach
  • The Chocolate City Pythons missed the playoffs...again
  • I'm more or less broke until Friday
  • My moms has been trippin' cuz I didn't make it home for Thanksgiving
  • I need to do a lot of laundry
  • I missed work last Thursday and Friday because I was sick
  • I'm still sick
  • Kerry lost

I found some funny/sad ish today regarding the teen pregnancy rates by state. The image linked is teen births per 1000 people.

You'll notice a boatload of red states at the top and liberal New England at the bottom. Keep it up with the abstinence guys!! It's working!! Welcome to the practical application of conservative values...

AP Hampers Anglo-Native Relations

I was reading this article because I was bored and it was linked off of fark. The title is: "How the colonists did brain surgery -
Evidence hints at skull drilling and autopsy in 1600s". It seems there was a skull found in the Jamestown area with evidence of drilling. A doctor who examined the skull determined that the man had been struck from behind, and then had two holes drilled into his head to relieve pressure. That's not all he could tell - the doctor knows the culprit as well:

"Owsley thinks the man was hit in the back of the head with a stone ax and suffered a fractured skull. That would suggest the blow came from an Indian, Straube said."

Oh really Dr. Straube? Why are you so quick to blame the Indians in this? Must we still engage in the propaganda of labeling Native Americans as savages? I'm disgusted Dr. Straube. What's more amazing, Straube admitted that this but one of a handful of possibilities:

"But Straube said it is also possible the man simply tripped and fell and hit his head on a rock."

That just seemed weird to me. Warren
